We are currently seeking to recruit an Associate Lawyer (Competition) to join our Bucharest office.

This role offers the opportunity to become part of a top‑tier Competition practice within a leading international law firm, contributing to the continued development of the group. Our Competition team advises prominent international and regional clients across a wide range of industries on complex EU and Romanian competition law matters, including merger control, antitrust investigations, abuse of dominance, state aid, and competition compliance. The team regularly supports clients in navigating evolving regulatory frameworks and enforcement trends across the CEE/SEE region.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Education and Professional Qualification
– degree from an accredited Romanian law faculty;
– qualification as a lawyer registered with a Romanian Bar Association;
– active Bar membership in good standing.

Professional Experience
– 1–5 years of relevant professional experience in the field of competition law;
– solid understanding of EU and Romanian competition law, including merger control, antitrust rules, and competition compliance;
– experience with proceedings before competition authorities or regulatory bodies is an advantage;
– ability to assess legal and commercial risks in complex transactions and business arrangements.

Skills and Competencies
– strong analytical skills and sound legal judgment;
– excellent drafting and communication skills in Romanian and English;
– ability to interpret legislation, administrative decisions, and case law effectively;
– strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Personal Attributes
– capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within an international team;
– proactive and solution-oriented approach;
– ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and meet deadlines in a demanding professional environment.

Language Skills
– fluency in Romanian and English is required;
– knowledge of additional languages is considered an asset.
